I'm achy. My brain is achy as I'm trying to do my accounts for the business and I hate doing them. My neck and shoulders are achy from all the painting I've been doing at the shop and I hate doing it. This year I came up with the cunning idea of a painting party. I made a big pot of chilli, got some beer and had some of the staff and and regular customers come to help. We managed to get about 70% of the building painted. It's a complete fucker to do, the 16th century folk that built the place didn't exactly do smooth walls. Thankfully the worst of it is done now. Same with the accounts. I'm trying to get my two most hated jobs out of the way before I head over to San Francisco to see Michael next week. Hurray for that. It's been 6 months since I've seen him as his September visit had to be canceled. I cannae wait. It's a flying visit, for a week as hopefully he'll be in the UK for a long visit in the next couple of months. Another Hurray!
I've been doing a lot of bar work for the Tolboothians recently. Saturday night was a bit of a bugger as the band performing were a bunch of people who I don't care for as people. They come into my cafe from time to time and irritate the fuck out of me. They were folkies. The thing with folky people and their audiences is the fact that they willfully refuse to acknowledge the presence of hair care products in this world. The amount of split ends was breathtaking, especially with the "Like you've just stepped out of a Van Der Graaf generator" look that many were sporting. Oh, and the infuriating woman who danced in the bar after the show with her guitar case strapped to her back in that "Look at me! I'm musical! I have an instrument! Look! It's on my back! And I'm dancing! I'm so crazy! Notice I'm musical! Are you watching me dance? Are you? Look at me!" manner which I found very, very annoying. These people wouldn't leave. Michael always says "never be the last people to leave the bar as the bartender is quietly hating you. Saturday evening was proof of that.
And finally, I'm loving this advert:
- Scraping paint from fingernails is quite satisfying.

hehehehehe that's a nice ad.
And I have missed you, Niall, but now I at least know why. If only I knew you needed some helping hands, I'd cancel that Malta trip. :)
And YAY for SF soon!!!
